Nepenthes chaniana had its name changed from N. pilosa. The plants being sold as N. pilosa for the longest time are now referred to as N. chaniana. I think the reason for the name change was that the Nepenthes being sold as N. pilosa originated from a different area where the original N. pilosa was described. I haven't seen any photos of what is being described as the "real" N. pilosa so I have no idea how similar the two species are. Borneo Exotics has changed their identification to match their stock. They have a natural hybrid that was being sold as N. pilosa x veitchii which is now N. chaniana x veitchii. This species is an easy growing highlander that seems to grow a bit slowly for me. It is characterized by very hairy tendrils and a lime greenish yellow pitcher with no striping. My plant doesn't appear to go into a vining stage where the plant wraps its tendrils around anything it can. It has produced a basal shoot from the main growing part. It grows very similar to N. glandulifera. In fact, the leaves and tendrils look very similar. My N. glandulifera has put out many basal shoots as well so guessing that N. chaniana will too.
