Nepenthes lowii X (spathulata X maxima) is an Exotica Plants highland hybrid. I purchased this plant as a rooted cutting from large stock apparently. The vining stem from where the cutting was taken was large. So I expect this hybrid to do some climbing and produce large vines. It's been an easy grower for me so far. The main vine was hanging over the pot and now is producing a basal shoot. The pitcher retains hairs under the lid from the female parent N. lowii while having the growing vigor of the N. spathulata and N. maxima. Pitcher mouths are flared and wide. I don't know if there is a big difference between lowers and uppers. I suspect that because of the size of the vine, that the pitcher above is most likely an upper pitcher. As with almost all of Exotica's N. lowii hybrids, they are in demand and sought after. I think this particular plant is no exception.
