Nepenthes maxima X truncata is a cross between a highlander and a lowlander. I got the plant from Tristan's Nursery off of Ebay. They sell many of their cuttings on Ebay, but the original cross was made by Exotica Plants. This hybrid has been around a while. Some growers think it maybe the "Marbled Dragon" form Exotica's tissue cultured plants. I would consider this a good Nepenthes to start out with because it is colorful, has large pitchers, and is very tolerant of many different environments. Because this hybrid is fairly common, I didn't consider getting one. But eventually I gave in because I do like hybrids with N. truncata. I'm growing this plant outdoors on a deck. If grown in typical greenhouse conditions this hybrid will give you no troubles.
