Nepenthes veitchii X hurrelliana is a hybrid between those two species. I first became aware of N. hurrelliana from a photo on the poster Nepenthes Pitcher Plants of Sarawak. The photos were take by Chien Lee who at that time took photos for Malesiana Tropicals. I hope that's correct! Anyhow, the poster referred to N. hurrelliana as N. sp instead of N. hurrelliana. Then a very nice species profile was done by Charles Clarke in his book Pitcher Plants of Sarawak that shows virtually the same plant as that in the poster. With this plant, I don't know what N. veitchii was the cross. I also haven't seen any photos of the parent plants either so I have no idea what this hybrid will look like. Both parent plants are fairly spectacular so I anticipate this hybrid to be fairly stunning. Right now I'm growing it as a highlander outdoors. It has adjusted well to my growing conditions and appears that it will be a large plant by the size of the leaves already. There already appears to be some striping in the peristome that might make this hybrid very interesting. When more information becomes available, I'll update this profile.
