Nepenthes veitchii X platychila is a Malesiana Tropicals hybrid between an intermediate and a highlander. Malesiana Tropicals seems to be revamping their Nepenthes again and offering much bigger plants than they used to. This plant was about 10 inches across upon arrival with some other plants being offered for sale around 12 inches. Borneo Exotics was the first that I recall to make their N. veitchii X platychilas available for retail. From what I've seen in the forums there doesn't seem to be much variation within this hybrid and I believe that they are all from tissue culture now. I'm growing mine as a highlander outdoors and it is settling in nicely for my summer weather. Both parent plants tend to like more intermediate and warmer temperatures at night than other highlanders so winter will stress this hybrid out a bit I suspect. But so far, this hybrid seems to be very adaptable to my outdoor conditions and appears to be a vigorous grower.
