Nepenthes ventricosa X ovata is a cross between two highlanders. I believe this is an Exotica Plants cross. I purchased the plant from Hortus Botanicus that usually has most of their plants from Borneo Exotics but I haven't seen this hybrid listed at Borneo Exotics site so that's why I believe it originated from Exotica. The plant is an easy grower outdoors that can take a lot of sun with my other highlanders. I like almost all N. ventricosa hybrids because they are very hardy and adaptable to many different conditions. My plant is still somewhat small but is showing characteristics of both parents. The photo of this cross at Exotica Plants is very maroon. I think this hybrid will be nice with plenty of color that should be a good vigorous growing highland hybrid.
